Contract signed for the structural retrofitting of the building – Petračićeva 26, Zagreb

Petračićeva 26 is not just an address. To us, every address tells a story. It is a living guardian of a time when the city was born from the clay of its own streets. It is hard to walk along that pavement today without imagining the muted echo of the footsteps of people returning after a day’s work to their modest homes, set right beside the old industrial plants. That old spirit of Trešnjevka, where neighbors were family and every courtyard was a shared living space, is deeply embedded in the very foundations of this place.

Petračićeva 26, Zagreb

Every brick ever laid here carries within it a fragment of earth from nearby Ciglenica. It is remarkable to realize that the ground beneath what is now Dom sportova quite literally formed the walls that provided shelter for generations of Zagreb residents in this very part of the city for decades.

Today, amid Zagreb’s major structural reconstruction, Petračićeva 26 is experiencing a new youth. Yet this reconstruction is not merely a matter of concrete and steel; it is an act of preserving memory.

Company INGIDEA brings into this process the most valuable thing any project can have — the heart of someone who grew up on these very streets of Trešnjevka. There is a special kind of responsibility and pride in being given the opportunity to restore, with one’s own hands, the pavements and walls that helped shape one’s life. It is no longer just a construction site; it is a way of giving back to the neighborhood, caring for every joint and every beam as if we were restoring our own home.
